Younger Daughter Films is a Toronto-based film production company specializing in narrative and documentary feature films and short-form content. Founded by Julie Baldassi in 2018, YDF films have played at Sundance, Tribeca, SXSW, Hot Docs, DOC NYC, and the Toronto International Film Festival. They have received awards at the Canadian Screen Awards, the Webby Awards, Cinema Eye Honors, and were short listed for an Academy Award.

YDF’s recent and upcoming slate includes Bretten Hannam’s Mi’kmaw drama Wildhood, starring Philip Lewitski, Joshua Odjick, and Michael Greyeyes, Naomi Jaye’s The Incident Report (adapted from the Giller short-listed novel by Martha Baillie), Sofia Banzhaf’s directorial debut The Pathway, written with Grayson Moore, and Charlie Tyrell’s feature film Big Kids, adapted from the graphic novel by Michael DeForge.
